Playstation 3 Review
If you are looking for a gift, Sony Playstation 3 will make the recipient ever so grateful to you. Since Sony officially announced the release of Playstation 3 in May 2006, it had fascinated both the young and the old alike since then. This is the third in the Playstation series and one can expect many more features to come. This is also known as the seventh generation video games console in the industry. The structure of Playstation 3 incorporates many successful standards established by the original Playstation and the Sony Playstation 2. Both – Playstation and the Playstation 2 are two consoles that were market leaders until succeeded by later versions. However, Sony Playstation 3 offers the user some excellent new options and features that clearly differentiate Sony Playstation 3 from its predecessors. There is yet to find a matching competition to Sony Playstation 3. At present Sony has relatively unchallenged dominance in the console market.
The exterior design of the Sony Playstation 3 console is similar in size but somewhat squarer than that of the Sony PS2. It can be played in either in a horizontal position or in a vertical position. Placed horizontally on a table, the Playstation 3 is almost like a square. It comes in a casing, which is silvery gray plastic, and it has a smooth, simple aesthetic appearance. Only the disc drawer is plainly visible along its front. The four USB ports are hidden behind a front panel.
The Playstation 3 has the unique distinction of having the cell processor developed by three giants. IBM being the computer giant teamed with two of the electronic market giants Toshiba and Sony to produce the Playstation 3-cell processor. The Playstation 3 has in it eight SPE’s or Synergistic Processing Elements. The eighth Synergistic Processing Element is for “redundancy” which facilitates the dynamic handing of Sony Playstation 3 multiple operations. Nvidia together with Sony co-developed the RSX GPU of Playstation 3 to produce the stunning graphics. Interestingly, in the Playstation 3 the console comes with a 256MB of XDR RAM for use by the CPU, and also has a 256MB of GDDR3 VRAM for use by the graphics chip.
Another co-development by Toshiba and Sony that is seen in the Sony Playstation 3 is that games can be written to DVD or Blue-ray discs (BDs) in the higher density format. The PS3 is backwards compatible meaning all Sony PS2 and its predecessor the original Playstation games can be played well on it. Another remarkable feature of Sony PS3 is that it can read and play audio, video, and other files from a range of modern media formats, including CDs, DVDs, and BDs.
Another notable feature in the Playstation 3 is the Bluetooth facility and the presence of Ethernet ports in its console to enable IEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi communication possibility. This facilitates the Sony PS3 to access internet games, online chats, and download anything while playing games on the console. The Sony PS3 has been manufactured as to be compatible to other modern electronic devices. The console also reads Memory Stick, SD, and Compact Flash memory, providing opportunities for any cross-platform file sharing and other communications between the Sony PS3 and the Playstation Portable.
Subaru Introduces Crossover Culture in the Land of Forbidden Secrets
When experts say ‘crossover,’ they mean a vehicle that is part sport utility, part car. But Subaru wants to add spice to that notion. The automaker plans to introduce its crossover culture to the land of forbidden secrets evoking Japanese styling and themes to attract more American shoppers.
Subaru of America plans to launch a version of a small sporty model which epitomizes Japan’s rich culture. The vehicle, the 2008 Impreza WRX which features improved Subaru cold air intake, striking styling and accessories, will be backed by a $10 million-worth campaign.
The automaker’s website and television campaign commercial for Subaru WRX has started yesterday. Subaru will promote the sport utility by invoking the history, heritage and popular culture of its home country. The campaign is inculcated with aspects of Japanese anime films as well as manga comics. Movies like “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon;” and television series like “Heroes” are integrated to the campaign.
Three commercials that are to make their debut on the Subaru Web site will put in the picture a tale of a man from a futuristic city called the “land of forbidden secrets” who is fated to become the master of a dominant jungle creature, i.e., the WRX.
“Somewhere in the jungle, the legend is reborn,” said the headline of a print advertisement that depicts a dragon perched atop a mountain. The text begins, “From the East it comes, conceived in thunder, born in lightning.”
Other print ads offered a story narrated in comic-book panels and dialogue balloons about a man named Hiro whose meal at a noodle shop is interrupted by the arrival of a WRX. “Prepare to meet your destiny,” the ads declared.
The intended audiences for the WRX are men ages 20 to 34. “Like what’s coming from Asia, and this (WRX) epitomizes that,” said Timothy J. Mahoney, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Subaru of America in Cherry Hill, N.J., a division of Fuji Heavy Industries.
He added, “These are the kids who grew up playing video games,” many of which were, of course, sold by Japanese companies like Nintendo and Sony. Subaru joins a lengthening list of advertisers capitalizing on the rising interest in Japan among younger American consumers.
“The thread of Japanese pop culture permeates so much of American pop culture,” said John Nash, a partner at Moon City Productions in New York, the agency creating the WRX campaign. That represents another element of crossover because Moon City is the agency that creates ads for Subaru aimed at gay and lesbian consumers. It is the first time, Mahoney said, that ads from Moon City will appear in media directed at the general market.
“We want everyone to play in their own sandbox,” Mahoney said, referring to the usual lines of demarcation among the Subaru agencies. “But if there’s an opportunity to have a better idea, so be it. We’re all working for the brand.”
“Our specialty is in one area,” Nash said, “but an idea’s an idea. The 12 years we’ve worked with Subaru has given us a 360-degree view of the brand.” As for the perspective that Moon City brings to the campaign, Nash said: “As guys, we love the WRX. That stuff’s in our DNA.” In other words, the fact that men love fast sports cars is nature, not nurture.
The three WRX commercials, each 30 seconds long, are to become available online in three stages. The commercials are to start running on television next month, during programs that will include coverage of the X Games on ESPN.
Christian Bale Batman Workout
Christian Bales Batman workout for the upcoming Dark Knight sequel has turned the actor from skinny to jacked in a matter of weeks. For the Dark Knight, Christian Bale underwent an intense training regime to make sure that he was a believable Batman. Anyone who has ever watched Christian Bales workouts know that he can change his body for whatever the role calls for. Well for Batman, he had it tough.
Not only did he have to add substantial muscle since no one wants to see a scrawny and weak Batman but he also had to get lean and have a six pack for his out of suit shots. He also had to train to be agility and increase his vertical leap slightly for some action scenes that he chose to do with a stunt double.
Now that is tough training. Now I did not train him but if I did then here is what I would of done with him.
For his diet he would of consumed lean protein and healthy fats with every meal. His carbohydrates would have been kept low and been limited to only carbs that contain fiber like yams and oatmeal and brown rice and we should have had his carbs center around his workout time so that they did not get stored as fat. This way we would have fuel for his intense workouts without worrying about him getting a pot belly.
The proteins that he would of eaten would have been fish and beef and lean steak and chicken and turkey and whey protein powder. We would have kept his healthy fats in a moderate amount since they will raise his natural hormones and keep him full. He also would have had unlimited vegetables since the fiber would of stop any cravings for cheat foods.
His training would have to be different from your typical gym training. Christian ca not afford to do bicep curls and tricep pushdowns since he has to have an athletic body that can move. Plus using compound movements like bench press and squats will keep his fat burning potential for one to two days post workout.
Not to mention that those exercises will help me to add muscle to multiple body parts at the same time. Each exercise would be done with eight to twelve reps for three to four sets since those are the best sets and reps to build muscle.
Each workout would need to have some type of explosive movement in it to increase his stamina instead of forcing him to do 30-45 minutes of cardio after his workout. He is an actor and does not really have any time after his day is done to go and just walk on a treadmill. I would have him doing jump pushups and jump squats and jump lunges.
His ab training would have to revolve around heavy ab workout since only high rep and heavy weight core training will make your abs pop out. He would be using 8 to 12 reps with 3 sets for his abs and he would train them with movements like swiss ball crunches and kneeling cable crunches and cable chops.
